In the spirit of El Dia de los Muertos, (Day of the Dead,) this mural was painted in a young couple's mission era home. Rendered in a trompe l'oeil style, a celebratory shrine conveys their homage to the deceased. Miniature skulls surround the Virgin Mary's head to honor family members that have passed and butterflies atop the resting skulls sybmolize their rebirth.
